Beginning Arranging (Arr. 101) focuses on the core set of skills required to harmonize a melody, leveraging the natural harmonic rhythms and implied chord progressions, coupled with foundational arranging and theory-based skills, to create the beginnings of a solid barbershop arrangement.

When considering this course one should understand characteristic chord progressions with featured secondary dominants on a variety of roots, be able to examine a melody for suitability, understand basic song form, and construct small sections of arranged material.

Prerequisite: Intro to Arranging course or equivalent life experience
This course runs Monday–Friday.
